Douglas Alexander, the trade and development secretary, made his remarks in a speech in America, the first by a cabinet minister abroad since Mr Brown took power a fortnight ago. It removed Iran's biggest rival in the region - Saddam Hussein - andneutralized its biggest enemy - Iraq. In destabilizing Iraq, the United States also helped to extend the Shia revolution and expand Islamic fundamentalism. Mission Accomplished!
